Tarfful

Category: Characters
Type: Alien
Qualifier: Wookiee
Planet of Origin: Kashyyyk (Wookiee Planet C)

Tarfful was portrayed by Michael Kingma in Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith.

This dark-furred Wookiee warrior was one of the thousands who defended their homeworld during the last months of the Clone Wars. For Tarfful it was personal, since much of the fighting took place in Kachirho, where he served as the city's leader. During the war, Tarfful was captured by Separatist-funded Trandoshan slavers, but was later rescued by the Delta Squad of clone commandos. In the wake of the First Battle of Coruscant, Tarfful traveled to Coruscant to accept the assistance of the Grand Army of the Republic, and he and Chewbacca were glad to have the support of Jedi Master Yoda and his clone troops, led by Commander Gree. However, after Chancellor Palpatine revealed that he was actually Darth Sidious, the Wookiees found themselves the targets rather than the allies. Although Chewbacca managed to gather up Master Yoda and flee, Tarfful was caught in the crossfire and was believed to have been killed. This was all a ruse, meant to cover the escape of Master Yoda and Chewbacca, while allowing the Wookiees time to ambush their pursuers. Tarfful then helped Yoda reach an emergency escape craft, while barking orders to his fellow Wookiees to eliminate the remaining clones. Some months after Yoda's disappearance, Tarfful welcomed Olee Starstone to Kachirho, when the young Jedi Padawan explained that she was beginning her search for any Jedi who might have survived Order 66. Tarfful agreed to disguise the Jedi as valued customers, while they gathered information on the whereabouts of the Jedi who were serving on Kashyyyk during the Clone Wars.
