R-series Droid

This highly-successful series of astromech droids from Industrial Automaton had seen widespread use throughout the galaxy. Originally limited to five models (numbered R1 through R5), each succeeding model was toted as superior to its predecessor. However, only the R2 models continue to be popular, due to their high level of reliability. Note that the decoded version of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, episode 7, indicates that a standard R-series astromech weighed about seventy pounds.
