If either of the Wind Raiders won, she would become their property. Although Nardek was a stronger fighter, Ahsoka had her control of the Force, which allowed her to defeat him. Bafor declared that Ahsoka was free to go, since she won the fight without the use of weapons. When she tried to explain that Separatist forces were attempting to take control of Taloraan, Bafor chose to ignore her, although Jeru confirmed her words when he told of a strange ship hiding in the clouds. Bafor still refused to act, stating that the Wind Raiders would harrass the Separatists the same way they harrassed the Denfrandi. Ahsoka then offered Bafor a deal. In exchange for the Wind Raiders' help in defeating the Separatists, Ahsoka would work with the Denfrandi to provide food and supplies. She also promised those warriors who agreed to help her that they would get a good fight. Bafor agreed to this deal, and allowed his warriors to accompany Ahsoka back to Taloraan City, where they were a key part of the Republic's success against the Separatists. When the battle was over and Ahsoka kept her end of the bargain, Bafor made her an honorary Wind Raider.

Kleej's speech at the end of the race was carefully edited so that nothing incriminating was heard by the viewers of the race, and he was taken into custody. In a chamber hidden within Jervo's World, Bardron beat Kleej mercilessly, demanding to know why Kleej thought he could get away with his actions. Bardron eventually was forced to send Kleej back to the slave pits where new fighters were cultivated, hoping to reinforce the fact that Kleej was an employee of The Franchise. Bardron then learned that Kleej had no remorse about going back, since he might have a chance to see his son, Aubin, again. Bardron had suspected that Goethar's actions had been meant to save his son, and had already taken the liberty to enter Aubin Kleej in the Tandem Open, despite the fact that the young Gotal had very little training as a swoopduelist. Goethar demanded a chance to enter the event and save his son, and Bardron reluctantly agreed, but with certain conditions. If either of the Gotals failed to win the event, they would both be sent back to the slave pits permanently. However, Bardron also explained that, should both Goethar and Aubin win the event, they would be allowed to go free. In order to make things more interesting, Bardron had ordered the other swoopduelists to avoid Aubin during the early races. The appearance of Zayne Carrick prompted Bardron to report to Jervo Thalien, who feared that Carrick's presence meant that Marn Hierogryph was on Jervo's World. Thalien ordered Bardron and his Krish thugs to capture Hierogryph and any other being he was associated with. When Thalien also demanded that Goethar Kleej be eliminated, Bardron agreed to rig the finals of the Tandem Open to ensure that the Gotal experienced a "tragic accident".

Each brain worm was about a half-meter in length, and appeared to be little more than a yellowish, eyeless snake. However, the brain worm got its name from the fact that, once it hatched from its egg, it sought out the nearest living creature and trying to burrow its way into the creature's brain. Entering the brain through the mouth or nose of its new host, the brain worm attached itself to the control centers, and could affect the movements and actions of its host. Because brain worms seemed to have a hive-mind connection, groups of brain worms could work together to control a group of individuals. In this way, unhatched eggs could be carried by infected beings into new areas, allowing the brain worm to acquire more prey. Because these creatures lived inside the skulls of their hosts, brain worms preferred warm environments. Any time an infected being moved into a cold environment, the brain worm inside their skull experienced a shutdown of its own bodily functions. During periods of intense cold, the brain worm would eventually die, falling from its resting place in the skull and freeing its host from its control. Rumors of Geonosian Queens controlling their male drones and soldiers were based on the true story of Queen Karina the Great using brain worms to control the male Geonosians of her hive.

Once the factory was destroyed, Master Unduli and Buzz set out to apprehend Poggle. A discarded case of munitions gave Buzz enough information to guess that the Geonosian leader was heading for Progate Temple, despite the fact that the Temple had been badly damaged during their initial attacks. At the Temple, the pair were attacked by a group of strangely-possessed Geonosian soldiers, and Buzz was killed while defending Master Unduli. The soldiers managed to capture Master Unduli and take her away to their lair, where she was forced to submit to a brain worm by Queen Karina.

When Ahsoka saw a group of arms military personnel guarding a supposedly-empty warehouse, she decided to investigate. Confused by Ahsoka's plan to head for the rear of the warehouse, C9 decided to walk up to the guards and ask them what they were doing. This alerted the guards to Ahsoka's presence, although she was able to sneak in and see hundreds of Separatist battle droids inside the warehouse before the guards began firing their blasters at her.

Although Rynert had orders from Count Dooku to kill the Jedi, Magister Orlin Denache demanded that the Jedi be captured alive, to use as a bargaining chip with the Separatist leader. Canteval cared little for the politics involved, and kept his warship hidden the planet's clouds until a full attack could be launched. While Rynert's security teams gained control of Taloraan City, Canteval laid in wait for the Republic's reinforcements, believing that he could surprise the Republic's forces, However, Skywalker and Kenobi managed to get a warning message out to the crew of the Resolute, and Canteval's surprise attack was spoiled. Instead of a resounding victory, Canteval had to watch in horror as the Resolute pounded his own frigate. He was eventually forced to abandon the ship when it suffered damage to its main power generators, and the vessel plunged into the planet's core.

This Imperial starfighter pilot was assigned to the crew of the frigate Fogger, during the months leading up to the Battle of Hoth. It was unclear to his peers how he had earned the nickname Grommet, since it had been given to him before his service aboard the Fogger, and Carith himself refused to reveal any more details. Carith was noted for his rough sense of humor, and managed to pull several pranks on Maarek Stele, when Stele first arrived aboard the frigate. Carith was exceptionally good at imitating the wild calls of the Tusken Raiders of Tatooine, a skill he claimed to have picked up while being stationed on Tatooine many years earlier. Stele also discovered that Carith was fond of talking, and would ramble on about almost anything if he wasn't properly focused on a specific task. Carith and fellow pilot Alimet served as Stele's wingmen during a mission to destroy a Mugaari weapons depot in the Tungra Sector. After being promoted to the rank of Lieutenant, Carith was later transferred to the frigate Ludwick, where he was reunited with Stele. They served together during the mission to eliminate the Pakuuni pirates, and after Stele was transferred to the Shamus, Carith unexpectedly decided to defect from Imperial service and join the Alliance.

This tall, pale-skinned Chev was ostensibly in charge of the Metellos Exchange, some 3,963 years before the Battle of Yavin. He welcomed Professor Gryphomarn to the Exchange, and was escorting him through the auction house when Captain Brackel of the Hot Prospect arrived at Metellos 3. With her, she brought a native of the planet Italbos, the rights to which had been sold at auction several months earlier. When she demanded that the natives of Italbos be given a chance to bid for their homeworld, Professor Gryphomarn agreed to serve as their legal counsel, in case the matter needed to be decided in the courts. Cipiter knew that this series of events would be bad for the reputation of the Exchange, and closed down the auction house in order to determine what to do next. This involved an emergency meeting with his true master, Nunk Plaarvin, the Chevin crimelord who controlled the Metellos Exchange. Plaarvin became angry with Cipiter, because the idea of using the Metellos Exchange to acquire credits had originally been put forward by Cipiter himself. He thought that it would a good way to get short-term income, but neither he nor Plaarvin had anticipated the popularity of the Exchange. As the credits continued to roll in, the Raff Syndicate demanded more and more profit, forcing Plaarvin and Cipiter to do everything in their power to make the Exchange lucrative. This involved auctioning off more exotic and potentially valuable properties, as well as fabricating claims in order to boost the prices of their auctions. When customers returned from scouting these locations and demanded refunds for their bids, Plaarvin and Cipiter were forced to eliminate them, in order to keep the Raff Syndicate happy. Shortly after the capture of Jarael and Rohlan Dyre, Plaarvin and Cipiter were met by a Trandoshan representative of the Raff Syndicate, who explained that Marn Hierogryph's earlier actions were part of an elaborate scheme to expose Plaarvin's skimming of credits from the syndicate. Plaarvin was forced to accept an order to accompany the Trandoshan to syndicate headquarters, and he left Cipiter in charge of the Metellos Exchange. Unknown to Cipiter, the Trandoshan was actually Slyssk, who was working with Hierogryph. The disappearance of Nunk Plaarvin meant that Cipiter and the Chevs were left in complete control of the Metellos Exchange.

Doom Pipes
This was one of the primary sections of the Mon Gazza Maze podracing course. The name of this section came from the fact that it was formed from a collection of old drainage pipes that were twisted together into a single unit. Although there were many pipe openings to choose from, a racer had to be sure and choose one that did not abruptly end or reduce in diameter. Even if a rider managed to enter a pipe that was wide enough to accommodate their podracer, the tubes twisted and rolled along their lengths, forcing a rider to maneuver their racer in near-dark conditions.

Dossa
This voluptuous, female Nautolan was a noted smuggler who worked the galaxy's spacelanes during the years that followed the Great Sith War. Dossa found herself the target of a Jedi investigation, and was often forced to defend herself against Haazen. However, she found that Haazen's connection to the Force was no match for her own abilities, and she took great pleasure in toying with him before escaping, whenever their paths crossed. She nearly killed Haazen on Arkania, and he was saved only by the timely intervention of Barrisan Draay, who was on the planet for his wedding to Lady Krynda. Dossa managed to escape, knowing that she had beaten Haazen once again. Dossa did not cross paths with Haazen for ten years, until they encountered one another on Toprawa, during the height of the Great Sith War. Dossa had been working for the Sith, but recognized the possibility that Exar Kun might not win the war. She then offered Haazen a deal: his life, in exchange for leading the Jedi who were with him into a trap. Haazen agreed, unaware that Dossa was actually in league with the Sith Lord known as Doc Uburluh. When Haazen led Barrison Draay and the other Jedi into the Ansharii Cavenrns, Dossa set off a series of explosions in the caves that killed the Jedi and severely maimed Haazen. Uburluh then used a combination of Sith medicine and cybernetics to replace Haazen's damaged body parts. When Haazen regained consciousness, Dossa explained that he was still alive, but that he was now a pawn of the Sith. Haazen refused to bow to the Sith, and used the strength of his cybernetics to kill both Dossa and Uburluh.

Dust
This bounty hunter, whose physical form was quite human, but was hidden behind close-fitting body armor, was hired by Raze to locate the beings who kidnapped Princess Mi of Orocco, about a year before the Battle of Hoth. Few beings ever saw Dust's real face, which was hidden behind a sloping helmet that gave his head an insectile appearance. Dust was a blue-skinned humanoid with one blind eye, but his armor and helmet prevented his enemies from seeing his true identity. Dust managed to track the Millennium Falcon to the planet Cataalda, and surprised Han Solo and Leia Organa by ambushing them. The two rebels had discovered Princess Mi inside a fuel container they were transporting to Raltac III, and had found themselves mixed up in the schemes of Grintlok and his gang. On Cataalda, Dust waited for the group to leave the hidden Alliance base on the planet, then ambushed them as they were confronted by Tookra and his droid, who had also been searching for Solo. In the confusion, Dust was able to grab Princess Mi, and would have made off with her if Princess Leia had not acted quickly and leaped onto Dust's speederbike. Dust was not deterred by Leia's boldness, and simply punched her in the jaw to knock her unconscious. He then brought both women back to his ship, where he realized that the woman who had jumped him was none other than Princess Leia Organa of Alderaan. With two princesses under his control, Dust believed that he could claim two bounties for the cost of one mission. When asked how he had found them on Cataalda, Dust revealed that King Arturo had placed a homing beacon inside Princess Mi's shoes. In a desparate attempt to bargain for their lives, Princess Leia offered Dust the codes that would unlock the data stored in the data stick she wore around her neck. The data, she explained, contained the Imperial shipping codes used by the Empire's fleet to move along secret hyperspace supply lines. Dust countered the offer by taking the data stick and giving them a one-hour head start on their escape, and Leia quickly took the deal, knowing that the data stick actually contained Gungan recipes. Before they could flee, though, Dust tried to renege on the deal. As he emerged from his ship, he was confronted by Han Solo, but then both beings found themselves being attacked by the bodyguard droid K1L-R. The droid fired at Solo, but the blast went wide and struck Dust's ship, rendering it unsuitable for flight. Dust turned his anger on the droid, using a knife hidden in his armor to severe its head from its body. This gave Solo and his friends a chance to escape, leaving Dust stranded on Cataalda.
