If you've made it this far, you've realized that the encyclopedia has a new home, which is a good thing! Please update your bookmarks accordingly, so that you can come here directly the next time you stop by to visit.

The best part... I've been honored to have been asked to be one of the authors of The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia! All my hard work finally paid off! Don't worry, though, because I will still be updating the CUSWE. The 2009 updates should be more regular, and have more content, than those in 2008.

If you head over to the Cebann Veekan entry in the official Databank, you'll see that DJ Maul got kudos for the creation of the character and his story. However, I ended up getting credit for naming the character's race, the Hamadryas. (In case you missed it, Karen Traviss later expanded on the Hamadryas in her novel, Legacy of the Force: Sacrifice.)

Hello, and welcome to The Completely Unofficial Star Wars Encyclopedia!

This edition marks the first time in a long while that I've truly been behind on my work. My real job has kept me quite busy since I took on my new role in April, and real life has only gotten more hectic, with one daughter in college and the other in high school. But, the show must go on. I will leave you with this edition as a early Christmas present, and begin work on the ever-growing stack of books and papers that I need to put in the encyclopedia when my break begins. Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah, Happy Kwanzaa, and a happy and prosperous New Year to all my readers. Thanks again for making the CUSWE what is has become today.

I'm still (yes, still!) messing around with the backend database, to try and make it easier to use. I've had to re-write some of the ASP code to accommodate these changes, so please let me know if you have any problems. With any luck, some of the new content (a starships table is among the biggest additions) will be visible in the Version 11 timeframe.

As many of you know, I started building my own astromech droid after returning from Celebration IV! I started using my starwars.com blog (at the link above) to keep readers up to date on my progress. To expand on the content in the blog, I have also created my own build web diary here on the CUSWE server. If you want to see expanded coverage of my build, please click here to see how it's coming along. Update: As with the CUSWE, my work on RD-22 was put on hold while I was working on the official encyclopedia. So, the build web site hasn't been updated in months... and although RD-22 is completed and was the hit of the 2009 Halloweed season, I don't have any pictures up yet!

In case you missed it, I have some pictures from Celebration IV on the web site. Just click over to my C4 page to see who and what I saw!

I'm going to resurrect the "How You Can Help" list, now that I have a main page again. This will work the same way it did before. If you have any of the source materials listed below, and wouldn't mind loaning them to me for a while, I would greatly appreciate it. It's a painless procedure, that usually involves you sending me the material to read. It takes about a week to do an average sourcebook, more for the detailed Prima Guides. I then send them back the same way you sent them to me, and I'll refund your original postage as the "rental fee." My current needs list looks like this:

  • Racer Revenge - PS2 game
  • Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader - GameCube game
  • Star Wars: Empire at War - Forces of Corruption - PC game
  • Star Wars: Obi-Wan - XBox game
  • Any Prima Star Wars Game Guide

I also have the new banners ready. Just click over to the Links Page and grab one!

Please remember to reset your bookmarks, if you haven't already, and then get back to your investigation of all the things that can be found in the Star Wars universe. I'm glad to have you back!

P.S. - Thanks to Arthur Papadam - otherwise known as arf_maul - for testing the new site!

And now, for something completely different...

Check out the Star Wars Outsider, a new fanzine that is being put together by Arthur Papadam, known to most of us as Arf Maul. In the first issue, there is a fan-fiction story I wrote about Vob Bitas, the Star Wars character who was named after me. TJ's illustrations are awesome!

I recently had a chance to do an interview with Joel Anderson, the guru behind the Programming in Tongues website. Check it out by clicking here!

Also, check out the second interview I did with the team at Lightsabre. This one sees me promoted to their "Stars" section, and follows my first interview from a few years ago. These guys have been loyally supporting the CUSWE for a while now, so please check out their site!
